Square mortising drill bits, sometimes called sharp-edged, are special drill bits designed to create rectangular or square holes (grooves) for pins and locks, especially in the woodwork production. The easiest way to create holes for pin connections is with these tools. They are designed for use in sharp-edged mortisers. Not for use in hand drills and stand drills.

Design:

• The tool consists of a square groove and an auger bit mounted in it. The auger bit rotates and the square part of the tool is fixed.
• Note: the exact dimension of the tool is given in inches, the dimension in mm is only approximate (rounded). A tolerance of +/- 2% must be taken into account.

Method of use:

• Thanks to the special edges and the tips of the square part, it is cut out smoothly.

Our suggestion: first, the edge holes are drilled, and then the rectangular hole is completed by removing (drilling and deburring) between these edge pavings.
