For precise 60° centre holes before drilling or turning between centres.
Center drills and NC spot drills prepare an accurate starting point for subsequent drilling or machining, but they do so in different ways. DIN 333 A center drills produce a standardized center hole with a 60° cone and are used, among other applications, to prepare workpieces for turning between centers. NC spot drills create a shallow, accurately positioned spot that guides the subsequent twist drill and helps prevent it from slipping or deflecting as the hole is started.
This category includes DIN 333 A center drills and three ranges of NC spot drills with a 90° or 120° point angle. HSS-Co 5% cobalt spot drills are intended for standard precision spotting on stable machine tools. The solid carbide version with a TiAlN coating is intended primarily for rigid and precise CNC setups.
