Product description
Hinge boring bit
Centering bit for the fast and precise drilling of hinge mounting holes.
Design:
- the HSS pilot bit is placed in a flexible case, thanks to which the drill bit is always guided perpendicularly and precisely to the center of the hole in the hinge
- the spring inside the case ensures the movement of the lower part of the case and acts simultaneously as a depth stop
- the bottom of the case is equipped with 2 grooves - for better chip removal
- hexagonal shank 1/4" - ideal for use in accu-screwdrivers
Note:
- The buttom of the case fits into the holes in the hinges practically always. Therefore, choose the right drill size according to the type of the material and size of the screws, with which you will fasten the hinge. The rule is that the screws of 5 mm are used for chipboard and soft wood, for hard wood there is better to use sizes of 2 to 3 mm.
- Most of the diameters are offered in inch dimensions, for which the indicated dimension in mm is shown only approximately.
Instruction for use:
- Depending on the type of material and screws size choose the right drill size
- Place the hinge in the required place where it will be mounted.
- Insert the bottom edge of the case into the hole in the hinge.
- Start drilling and at the same time slightly press on the drill.
- Use a low speed when drilling
- The spring allows drilling only to a depth corresponding to the size of the screw, preventing accidental drilling through the material
- The screws will fit exactly with the holes in the hinges.
